One junior in Michigan who has seen plenty of activity in his recruitment over the past several months is Geon Hutchins. The 6’4” guard of Oak Park High School (MI) and The Family has been able to pull in several division one offers for himself.
“All-around player” is the first thing Hutchins said describing his own game. Adding in “An athletic combo guard that can shoot the three and got a mid-range game and can get to the rim.”
Back in the end of June, Central Michigan became the first program to offer Hutchins. Since then, Oakland, Northern Iowa, Roberts Morris, and Western Michigan have all extended an offer to the fast-rising junior. Some of the other schools showing interest in him include Ball State, Bowling Green, Duquesne, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami (OH), Toledo, UIC, among others.
Recently, Hutchins took visits took visits to a pair of the schools who have offered him. “My visit to Northern Iowa was good. Staff very welcoming and cool, love the gym facilities,” he said about his visit from back in September. Back in August he also took a visit to the first school to have offered him. “Central Michigan was good, loved the intensity of the practice, nice gym.”
