The second group of the 16U top performers also is loaded with talent from this stacked group from The Final Chapter.
Drew Murphy – 2025 – SF – Wisconsin Swing
Consistent. There have been few players on any level of the NY2LA Association have continued to play at their best game after game and scoring the ball so well. The talented wing had one of top scoring performances again this tournament with a 27-point game. I continue to be impressed but not just his offensive skill set but also his basketball IQ and reading the floor to go get himself his points. Murphy and the Swing were able to capture the gold championship.
Xzavion Mitchell – 2025 – SF – Team Herro
It was another big weekend for Mitchell who helped lead Team Herro to an undefeated 5-0 tournament. There are few players I’ve seen that have his consistency, versatility, and production, in addition to always playing with plenty of energy. No matter the competition he produces having been in the top ten scoring on the EYBL 16U at 18.9 points per game and continued it throughout this tournament doing a bit of everything. A sure-fire division one player that mid major and high major coaches should see.
Karson Osterman – 2025 – PG – MTXE
While Osterman has had some good tournaments throughout the year, he was playing on another level this tournament. All tournament he was shooting the ball extremely well from the outside to keep getting into double figures. On Sunday he was stellar scoring 19 points while hitting four threes and running the point effectively in a tight win against a very talented Mac Irvin Fire team.
Corey Pittman – 2025 – PG – REACH Legends
Pittman has continued to be one of the top players at the 16U level of the association all season long. That held true this tournament as Pittman shined with his scoring, distributing and defensive play. He is a consistent presence with his on ball defensive play and stood out with his outside shooting and creating off the dribble at The Final Chapter to get onto this list once again.
Dietrich Richardson – 2025 – G – MidPro Academy
One of a few players from the championship MidPro team that could have found their way onto this list. Throughout their championship run, the guard was one of their top scorers from a well-balanced attack but can impact the game in many ways. He has great size in the backcourt at 6’6” to go along with his length and athleticism to always be impacting the game for his team.
Sean Reynolds – 2025 – G – Illinois Wolves
Reynolds shined in a game on Saturday leading the Wolves to a close victory over Power 5. In the win he knocked down five three pointers. He has a great looking jumper from the outside, is active off the ball finding his shots and can quickly get into his shot off the catch. Much more than just a shooter however he is a high IQ guard who plays well both on or off ball.
Ben Schneider – 2025 – PG – Greater Purpose Athletics
Schneider did all tournament what he is best at, put up plenty of points. Throughout the season on the NY2LA Association, the 2025 guard has consistently been one of the top scorers on the 16U level. Whether it was creating his own shots from the outside or getting into the paint, Schneider was able to have himself multiple 20-point games this tournament.
Robert Smith – 2025 – PG – D Rice Elite
One of a few very good guards who played an instrumental role in D Rice Elite reaching the championship game. He went for 19 points in the quarterfinals and then 13 in the semifinals as well as 16 in the title game. Smith is an explosive guard that was unstoppable attacking the basket and finishes so well for a guard amongst big men inside. In a showcase game on Sunday Smith also got a game winning bucket to defeat the Illinois Wolves.
Brandon Way – 2025 – PG – Michigan Playmakers
A truly electric playmaker with the ball in his hands. He is incredibly quick playing on the attack often getting into the defense and making plays but also shoots it well from the outside off the catch and dribble. For his size he finishes incredibly well around the paint. An active defender as well pressuring the ball and taking a couple of charges.
Moses Wilson – 2025 – G/F – Illinois Attack
Wilson is a highly intriguing 6’4” wing. He is already a highly impactful player with all he does on both ends of the floor but also has great upside. He has a nice blend of length, big motor, and athleticism. He can match up defensively with multiple positions and was also blocking shots in bunches in a game on Friday. In that sweet 16 game, Wilson also led his team with 15 points getting much of it done going to the basket.
