The stock of Jake Stephens has continued to build over the past several months. He earned his first offer over the summer and has continued to attract further college interest during his breakout junior season.

Following a strong sophomore campaign in which he averaged 12.9 points, the 6’4” guard has upped that all the way up to 23 points per game. This is in addition to 10 rebounds and 4 assists per game for Chelsea High School (MI).

Last summer Stephens was offered a scholarship by Lake Superior State. “I really like the coaching staff and the guys up there. There’s a few guys around my area there so when I went up to camp, it was nice to already know some of those guys,” he said about the division two program. Recently he took a visit to the school on Michigan’s upper peninsula. “My visit to LSSU was awesome. We watched them play an exhibition game and then I went out to eat with two assistants and a player. It was really nice.”

As well to the offer, the interest from division one, two, and NAIA colleges has continued to build for him. Some of the programs showing the most interest includes Malone, Spring Arbor, and Western Michigan. He is planning on taking a visit to Western Michigan soon.

Unselfish and all-around was how Stephens describes his own game. “I can do a little bit of everything and I like to get my teammates involved.” Stephens plays with the DV45 program.
