Frostburg State landed a major addition to its 2023 recruitment class on Wednesday when it received a commitment from Tyran Thomas. The division two program out of Maryland had initially offered Thomas back in early September when he was on an official visit.

The extremely bouncy 6’4” wing guard truly emerged this year with his play with 94 Feet Elite. With Thomas, 94 Feet Elite was one of the elite teams on the 17U level of the NY2LA Association this past season.

There were factors on and off the court that impacted the senior’s commitment to Frostburg State. “The main things I liked about Frostburg State was the coaching staff and professors. They were really open, and kind and I just loved where the campus was located,” Thomas said.

“I see myself fitting there because when I visited, I hung out with the players and it felt like I was at home,” Thomas said about his future at Frostburg State.

With his upcoming senior season at Northview High School (MI) getting close, Thomas wanted to make his commitment now to be able to focus on his season. For the season, Thomas is looking to outwork everyone and has the goal of winning championships to finish off his high school career.
