A loaded 2019 NY2LA Sports Futures Camp tipped off last week and once again some of the top up and comping prospects from the Midwest were in attendance.  Last week we focused on some of the top overall individual efforts and this week we will continue with a look at specific classes.  Today we start with the top 10 overall performances in the Class of 2023 where we broke down their overall efforts in multiple categories to come up with a composite score measurement.  So with that being said here’s a look at the top 10 composite statistical efforts in the Class of 2023…

(1)  Simeon Murchinson – 2023 – F/C – Milwaukee Bay View (WI) – 11.8 Composite
A dominant up and coming interior prospect, Murchinson was among the leaders for his class in virtually every category that mattered.  He was efficient, he filled the box score, he contributed on both ends, and his performance in the final game was one of the best of the day.

(2)  Ty Pence – 2023 – G/F – St. Joe-Ogden (IL) – 10.6 Composite
Pence was another that was consistently dominant throughout the camp.  A versatile talent, his biggest contributions were in terms of his overall floor impact and his efficiency with which he did things.

(3)  Ethan Thomas – 2023 – F/C – Greenfield (WI) – 9.7 Composite
One of the best up and coming prospects in the Midwest, Thomas had to step away prior to the final game due to a prior commitment but in the first two he was solid in terms of scoring, rebounding, and being active.  His Floor Impact was solid as was his ability to impact the game in a variety of ways.

(4)  Bryce Tillery – 2023 – PG – Hillcrest (IL) – 8.6 Composite
An ultra-quick guard with an ability to control the tempo to create or score, Tillery was stellar at times and his overall impact across the board was felt game in and game out.

(5)  Asa Thomas – 2023 – G/F – Lake Forest (IL) – 7.5 Composite
An excellent perimeter shooting talent, Thomas can fill it up in bunches with consistency, dominance, and efficiency.  That was evident again at the Futures Camp as he delivered that along with some solid overall play that filled the box scores.

(6)  Ethan Heck – 2023 – G/F – West DePere (WI) – 6.9 Composite
A solid up and coming prospect that showed a little bit of everything at the camp, his overall floor impact was his strongest attribute that showed out consistently.

(7)  Landon Key – 2023 – G – Wisconsin Lutheran (WI) – 6.8 Composite
A talented and versatile guard that can score and create, Key has solid physical tools that he pairs with an ability to impact the game on both ends.  His overall floor impact stood out at the camp as did his ability to finish at multiple levels.

(8)  Arhman Lewis – 2023 – PG – Madison LaFollette (WI) – 6.3 Composite
A natural floor general with handles and vision, Lewis makes great decisions with the basketball and a 7 to 1 assist to turnover ratio for the day was the tops at the camp.

(9)  Alex Sherwood – 2024 – G – Xavier (WI) – 6.2 Composite
Another talented young prospect who did a little bit of everything, Sherwood filled the box score and he put the ball in the basket from multiple levels at a highly efficient 79 percent clip.

(10)  Gavin Farrell – 2023 – G – Verona (WI) – 6.1 Composite
Farrell had a couple of solid games where he contributed on both ends.  He can score, he has range, he can do the little things, and he’s got some solid efficiency.
