When people go and watch the River Rouge Panthers play, people notice how hard they play and how tough they are.  Legend Geeter is a 6’7 forward who exemplifies playing hard and tough.  His inside presence has led to wins over some of the state’s top teams and shutting down some of the best players in the process.

Most recently in 58-52 win over Benton Harbor, ranked #1 in MHSAA Division 2, he delivered on both ends of the floor.  He finished the game with 10 points, 11 rebounds and was responsible for shutting down Mr. Basketball candidate, Scooby Johnson. For the season, he is averaging 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks.

LaMonta Stone, the head coach at River Rouge, spoke to us about his work ethic and mentality.  “Legend Geeter is the most unselfish superstar I have ever been around. He sets the tone for our program because he isn’t about stats…he is only about winning.”

Geeter and the Panthers are the team to beat in the MHSAA Division 1 State Playoffs with a 17-1 record.  His dominant play has picked up interest and offers from multiple NCAA Division I schools.  He currently holds offers from:  Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Detroit Mercy and Miami of Ohio,

Look out for Legend and the Panthers this week at 7:30pm on Saturday February 29th at Romulus High School.
