There are tons of players in Michigan that get overlooked and often have to wait until after their senior season to find the right fit for college. The unsigned seniors of the Class of 2020 feature some really high-level players that could play at all levels. Of the remaining uncommitted seniors, these players listed would be considered the cream of the crop.
Jayshawn Moore – 6’5 Wing - Ferndale: Jayshawn is probably one of the most underrated players in the state. Averaging 18 points and 7 rebounds a game for the Eagles, Moore has shown flashes of a guard who can play at the Division I level. His shooting ability and play making skills make him an intriguing target for Division I & II schools.
Offer(s)/Interest: Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Georgia Southern, Bowling Green and Rhode Island.
SirReal Smith – 6’0 Guard – Saginaw High: The numbers this guard has been putting up this season match his name, surreal! Smith is averaging an astounding 29.5 points per game, in the always very tough Saginaw Valley League, and grabbing 7 rebounds. He had a stretch this season where he scored 117 points in 3 games!! Tough, hard-nosed guard that can hit the three with range and attack the rim. He also stingy on defense getting 4 steals a game and will be an impact immediately at the Juco level.
Offers(s)/Interest: Schoolcraft College and multiple other DI & DII Jucos.
Ty Fortney – 6’8 Center – Wayne Memorial: Fortney is the best available big in the State! He posts the block hard, runs the floor well and definitely finishes above the rim with his athleticism. Missed the 1st half of the season due to transfer rules but since his return in January has been a double-double machine including 13 points and 16 rebounds in win over Redford Union recently.
Offers(s)/Interest: Schoolcraft College, Grand Rapids CC, Muskegon CC, Jackson CC and host of other D1 & D2 Jucos.
Mykel Bingham – 6’7 Wing – Grand Rapids Catholic Central: Bingham is very long and athletic. He can make plays on and off the ball and stretch the floor with his jump shot. Defensively his length gives opponents problems while also averaging 14 points per game. Would be a very good pickup for NCAA Division II level program.
Offers(s)/Interest: Ferris State, Davenport, Fairmount State
Jeremiah Pittman – 6’3 Wing – Grand Rapids Union: One of the best wings on the Westside of the state is having an outstanding senior year for the Red Hawks. Averaging 19 points and 11 rebounds, Pittman uses his athleticism and high-motor on both ends of the floor to impact the game. This big wing will be a steal at the DI & DII Juco level.
Offers(s)/Interest: Schoolcraft College, Henry Ford CC, and multiple Jucos in MI, OH and IL.
Other notable unsigned Seniors: Raynard Williams – Detroit Edison, Zayvion McClendon – Detroit Frederick Douglass, Kevin Davis-Rice – Grand Blanc, Ja’moni Jones – East Kentwood, Nick Branton – South Lyon East, Ryan Corner – Allendale, Donovin Peoples – Detroit Frederick Douglass, Mike Robinson – Ann Arbor Huron and Noah Pruitt – Okemos.
