One senior out of Iowa who is starting to have a long list of scholarship offers is Caleb Haag of Waterloo West High School. To date, the 6’4” shooting guard has received offers from Des Moines Area Community College, Kirkwood Community College, North Dakota State College of Science, Southwest Mississippi Community College, Truman State, and Upper Iowa.

“I like all of the schools that have offered me, they all have great coaches and a great team and all the campuses are nice as well,” Haag commented about all of the schools that have offered him. However, one of them has been able to stand out from the others, “Southwest Mississippi, because of the high rate of players going division one afterwards.”

There are several different things Haag has his eyes set on for his future school. “In a college, I’m looking for a good team bond outside the sport but also a great team chemistry on the court. Coaches that have the ability to help me on my journey and get me where I want to be next and a good campus and feel as well.”

On the season Waterloo West has an impressive 7-1 record currently. Haag has been a large contributor for the strong early record scoring 8.6 points per game on 49% shooting from the floor.

For his game, Haag sees some similarities between his and one rookie in the NBA and former Duke Superstar; Zion Williamson. “I can play above the rim at all time and I’m going to choose getting to the basket over shooting a three but I can knock down my three if I have to.” While Haag is a physical and athletic wing guard who can score the ball getting to the rim or shooting the three, he is focused on developing his ability on the opposite end of the court to the next level. “I want to improve my defense even more so when I get to college I’m a lock down defender,” the already tough defender stated.

While the senior has received several scholarship offers, Haag is in no rush to make any type of commitment. Right now, he is eyeing a commitment in a few months out in May.
